Kochi: For the first time in India, Kerala HC is all set to implement a machine learning system for checking bail pleas.
From July 10, bail applications will be verified via a special software and will be accepted only in the prescribed format. The applications will be checked for any discrepancies.
The roster-wise listing of applications will also be done with the help of computer. At present, the examination of the files is carried out by file scrutiny officers. As many as 10 officers were appointed for this process which will now be taken over by the new system.
The IT team of the Kerala HC developed this software. In future, machine learning system will be implemented for the verification of other petitions as well. Apart from the computerized verification, the scrutiny officers will continue to examine the files until the end of July.
