Side effects of Covid Vaccine detected; Researchers allay fears

Thrissur: Studies conducted among 9.9 crore people in 8 countries found that the COVID-19 vaccination has induced side effects in a section of people by affecting their nerves, brain and heart. However, the researchers claimed that this would not affect the effectiveness of the vaccine.

In a section of vaccinated people, myocarditis (inflammation of heart muscle) and pericarditis (swelling and irritation on the thin tissues surrounding the heart) are noticed as side effects of the vaccine. Guillain Barre Syndrome, affecting nerves, and Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis, affecting the brain, are also found in some as side effects of the same.

These side effects were detected at a higher rate than expected. However, the researchers stated that there is nothing to be worried about. The studies were based on individuals who received vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca pharma companies.
