The Kerala government is actively advancing its multiplex project across constituencies, allocating Rs 100 crore for the project to enhance the region's cultural and entertainment infrastructure.

In Kayamkulam Municipality of Alappuzha District, the construction of a complex with three theatres is progressing. In Vaikom Municipality of Kottayam District, the construction of a multiplex with two theatres is also progressing.

Similarly, in Alagappa Nagar Panchayat in Thrissur District, the works to establish a complex featuring two screens are progressing.

In Payam Panchayat of Kannur District, the panchayat is constructing a complex. The second and third floors of the complex will have screens. Similarly, in the Payannur panchayat of the district, the works to establish a complex featuring two theatres are progressing.

However, delays have been encountered in Malappuram District's Tanur area, as the transfer of land from the Public Works Department to the Kerala State Film Development Corporation did not happen as planned.

These details were disclosed by Kerala's Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cheriyan in response to MLA P V Anvar's unstarred question on June 12 in the Kerala Assembly.
