Kerala film producers have approved a 12-hour workday on film sets and introduced new salary terms. The agreement also highlights a controversy over actor Biju Menon’s alleged failure to participate in promotions.

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: The Kerala Film Producers’ Association has signed a new agreement revising work hours on film sets from 16 hours to 12 hours, following three months of discussions. The agreement also introduces revised salary terms for industry workers.
Amid the developments, director B Unnikrishnan alleged that actors are often responsible for delays in film productions.
He specifically criticised actor Biju Menon, claiming that the actor failed to participate in the film’s promotional activities as agreed in his contract. According to Unnikrishnan, the absence resulted in a financial loss of approximately ₹25 lakh for the producer.
The director said he has no hesitation in naming Biju Menon.
