Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s Chief Principal Secretary K M Abraham, in connection with allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The move follows a directive from the Kerala High Court.

According to reports, the case has been registered under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The First Information Report (FIR) is expected to be submitted before the CBI court in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.

Earlier, the same allegations were investigated by the state Vigilance Department, which later closed the case citing insufficient evidence.

Abraham had earlier written a letter to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan alleging a conspiracy against him and seeking an investigation into it. He had demanded an inquiry be carried out by a team led by an IPS officer into the issue.
