The family of Deepak, who died by suicide in Kozhikode following a viral bus harassment video, has filed a complaint against the woman who posted the clip, demanding a murder case be registered

Kozhikode, Kerala: The family of Deepak, who was found dead by suicide following the circulation of a video alleging harassment by him on a bus, has lodged a complaint with the city’s police commissioner.
They are demanding that a murder case be registered against the woman who posted a video on social media. The commissioner assured the family that action would be taken. The family also said they would forward the complaint to the District Collector, the Human Rights Commission, and the DGP.

The family alleged that the woman deliberately defamed Deepak. Last Friday, Deepak was travelling on a busy bus for work. While he was standing due to a lack of space, the woman recorded a video and later shared it on social media. The family claims this was done intentionally and demands that a murder case be registered against her.

The incident happened shortly after the woman shared a video alleging that Deepak had sexually harassed her on the bus. The video, in which she claimed he touched her inappropriately, went viral on social media.
Following Deepak’s death, the woman’s Instagram account has reportedly disappeared. She also deleted a second video she had posted. The woman has faced a large-scale cyberattack in response.
