Bengaluru: Kannada television actress and Bigg Boss Kannada Season 8 contestant Divya Suresh has alleged that she and her cousin were harassed by an unidentified man while walking to their car late at night in Bengaluru. The incident has reignited discussions on women's safety in the city and brought the actress back into the spotlight.
The actress shared details of the alleged incident through Instagram posts and videos, claiming the man followed them, behaved inappropriately and continued to linger near their vehicle even after they got inside and locked the doors.

What happened?
According to Divya, the incident occurred around 11:30 pm on Sunday while she and her cousin were walking towards their parked vehicle.
She alleged that an unidentified man began following them and behaved inappropriately. Despite confronting him, she claimed he continued following them until they entered their car.
In a video shared on social media, Divya and her cousin can be seen discussing the situation, with her cousin suggesting they contact the police. Divya also alleged that the man remained near the vehicle after they locked themselves inside.
At the time of writing, Bengaluru Police had not issued an official statement regarding the alleged incident.
Who is Divya Suresh?
Divya Suresh is a well-known actress in the Kannada television industry.
She first gained recognition through the Kannada serial Tripura Sundari, where she played the lead role. She has also appeared in popular television shows including Nanna Hendthi MBBS, Jodi Hakki and Sharade, where she currently portrays a negative character.
Her popularity increased significantly after participating in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 8, hosted by actor Kichcha Sudeep, where she emerged as one of the most talked-about contestants.
Before entering acting, Divya worked as a model and won the Miss India South title in 2017.
She later made her Kannada film debut with #9, Hilton Cross and has since appeared in films including Rowdy Baby, Kempu Haladi Hasiru and Hiranya.

Previous controversy
This is not the first time Divya has made headlines.
In October 2025, Bengaluru Police identified her as the alleged driver in a hit-and-run case involving a motorcycle carrying three people.
Divya later acknowledged that she had been driving the vehicle and said she had left the scene because she was rushing to catch a flight. She also stated that she was cooperating with the investigation and maintained that nobody is above the law.
Women's safety back in focus
Divya's allegations have triggered fresh conversations on women's safety in Bengaluru.
Many social media users have expressed support for the actress and called for stronger police patrolling, improved surveillance and better safety measures for women travelling at night.
Her posts have once again highlighted concerns over public safety in the city while drawing renewed attention to her career and recent controversies.
