Thiruvananthapuram: Home voting for senior citizens aged 85 and above, and persons with over 40% disability, has commenced from today (Monday) and will continue until April 4. Only those who have submitted advance applications through BLOs (Booth Level Officers) are eligible to cast their vote. The process is being carried out with the assistance of mobile polling teams.

Each home polling team consists of a Polling Officer, two assistants, a Micro Observer, a videographer, and police personnel. Representatives from political parties’ booth-level units will also be present during the voting.

The polling team will inform voters in advance about the date and time of their home visit. If a voter is unavailable during the first visit, a second date and time will be scheduled. Constituency-wise lists of eligible voters for home voting are shared with political parties and candidates to ensure transparency.

This initiative forms part of the Kerala Assembly Election 2026 efforts to make voting accessible to all eligible citizens, particularly senior citizens and differently-abled voters, through convenient home polling facilities.
