Kozhikode: The district collector has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 in Vatakara, Nadapuram, Valayam, Kuttiyadi and Perambra police station limits ahead of the LSG Poll vote counting. The prohibitory orders which was clamped for 48 hours will be in place from Tuesday 6 pm to Thursday 6 pm.
The action was taken in order to avert law and order issues and untoward incidents.
As section 144 is in place, gathering of more than 5 people and public demonstrations or meetings which interrupt peace and order are strictly banned.
Only candidates and their agents are allowed to camp in 500 metre radius of the counting centres.
Participation of more than 20 people in the victory celebration is also banned.
Rural SP Dr A Sreenivas informed that tight security is in place at 14 counting centres in the district.
Over 1200 police officials led by 7 DYSPs, 24 inspectors are deployed in the counting centres. Over 200 police personnel from Thunderbolt and other armed forces are also deployed.
Sec 144 in Kasaragod and Malappuram
Kasaragod district collector Dr D Sajith Babu has imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 in 10 police station limits in Kasaragod from December 15 to December 17.
Hosdurg, Kanhangad, Ajanoor, Pulloor Periya gramapanchayat, Padanna, Cheruvathoor, Peelikkode, Neeleswaram municipality, Vidya Nagar, Kasaragod police station limit are placed under section 144.
Meanwhile, prohibitory orders imposed in Kasaragod municipality.
At the same time, Malappuram district collector has clamped prohibitory orders in the district from December 16 to December 22.
