Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday stayed the arrest of now-suspended SFI area secretary Vishakh, the second accused in the impersonation case at Kattakkada Christian College, until June 20.
The court announced the ruling while considering the anticipatory bail plea filed by Vishakh in connection with the case. Terming the case serious, the court also directed the state government to submit a detailed case diary.

Earlier, it had come to light that the college principal-in-charge GJ Shaiju had forwarded Vishakh’s name in place of Anakha, who was elected as the councillor in the university union elections held on December 22, 2022.
Further, the college authorities also replaced her photo in the final list. However, a teacher who acted as the returning officer in the elections revealed that Anakha had won the election.
As the issue sparked controversy, Shaiju was suspended and removed from office citing his alleged role in the row. He had also approached the court seeking anticipatory bail. He was a member of a Congress-affiliated organisation.
The case was registered on the basis of a police complaint lodged by the registrar of Kerala University seeking a probe on the charges of impersonation, cheating, conspiracy and document forgery.
As per the complaint, wrong information was given to the university regarding the election and it has affected the image of the college and the university.
