Kasaragod: The police here on Friday arrested a man who was convicted under Kerala Anti-social Activities Prevention Act (KAAPA) and banned from entering Kasaragod. A team of police dramatically nabbed Ambalathara native B Ramsheed for allegedly trying to enter the district.
He was taken into custody from Padannakkad national highway.
Police proceeded with the arrest after receiving a tip-off on Ramsheed’s entry to Kasaragod. Ramsheed was externed from Kasaragod because of his involvement in several cases including robbery and drugs.
Police blocked vehicles that were passing through the highway to catch Ramsheed.
TM Subair, who was travelling with Ramsheed, was also taken into custody. His criminal background is not clear yet. Police said that 1.88 gram of MDMA was found in the car in which Ramsheed was travelling. A case has been registered against Subair for helping Ramsheed and carrying MDMA in the car. Both will be presented in court.
