Thiruvananthapuram: CSI bishop Dharmaraj Rasalam was stopped at Thiruvananthapuram airport from flying to the UK on Tuesday. Emigration officials at the airport blocked him as per the directions of the Enforcement Directorate over the probe into Karakonam medical college scam.

Later, ED officials interrogated the bishop and asked him to appear for a detailed interrogation at the ED headquarters on Wednesday.

ED took the move a day after raiding four places including CSI headquarters over the alleged financial irregularities in the medical college.

Though ED served a notice to the bishop and others, nobody appeared for the interrogation. Following this, ED officials raided the CSI headquarters and other places. ED has been investigating the black money scam related to accepting capitation fees for the medical college run by CSI church.

On Monday, ED raided bishop Dharamaraj Rasalam's office, Karakkonam medical college office, director Bennet Abraham's house at Sreekaryam and CSI secretary Praveen's residence at Neyyattinkara.

A team of 25 members from the Enforcement Directorate carried out the raid from 6 am to 8 pm. ED raided CSI headquarters in the presence of the bishop.
