Police registered a case against 25 people, investigation ongoing.

Kannur: On Wednesday night, RSS-BJP workers were allegedly attacked by CPI(M) activists as they were leaving a house after attending a Raksha Bandhan celebration in Kannur, police said. Four people sustained injuries in the incident. Rajith, an RSS worker, was admitted to the hospital, while the others were treated and later discharged. Among the injured was Soman, a former CPI(M) branch secretary who switched allegiance to the BJP in April.
The attack reportedly took place near Kayaralam Gopalan Peedika in Mayyil panchayat, Kannur. According to police, tensions flared after the event, leading to the alleged assault. BJP Kannur North district president KK Vinodkumar condemned the incident, calling it a “deliberate attack” and demanding strict action against those responsible.
The Mayyil police have registered a case against 25 individuals in connection with the violence. While the investigation is underway, more information is awaited from the authorities.
