Thiruvananthapuram: CPI Kerala state secretary Kanam Rajendran justified the flash strike by KSRTC employees staged here on Wednesday.
The strike by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation employees had drawn criticism after a passenger collapsed and died during the protest. Following the incident, police had registered cases against KSRTC employees under non-bailable sections.
Responding to this, Kanam Rajendran did not mince his words and asked “where else can the buses be parked, in the sky?”
Stating that the traffic block was not caused by KSRTC buses being parked on the middle of the road, Kanam Rajendran urged the government to probe the incident and take action against those responsible.
Earlier, Transport Minister A. K. Saseendran had said that parking buses on the middle of the road was not the right thing to do. He had added that salaries of employees were being disbursed using taxes paid by the public.
