Actor Jayaram and his team mesmerised devotees at the Chottanikkara Devi Temple as performers in the revered ‘Pavizhamalli Thara Melam’ during the Navaratri festivities. Jayaram graced the devotees as the ‘Mela Parmani’ for the occasion. The ‘Chenda Melam’ (percussion performance) lasted over two and a half hours.
A Visual Treat
In the presence of three elephants, 187 ‘chenda artists’ (percussionists) performed under Jayaram’s leadership, making the ‘Shiveli’ ritual a truly auspicious event.
Devotees flocked to the temple, seeking blessings and eager to witness the live performance by their beloved star.
The melam reached its pinnacle during the ‘Ánjaam Kaalam,’ as devotees were immersed in religious fervour.
Jayaram has been performing at the temple on this auspicious occasion for the past 11 years.
The actor was well-supported by the expertise of Chottanikkara Sathyan Narayana Marar and Anickadu Krishnakumar Marar. The blissful atmosphere created an unforgettable experience for all those present.
