Kozhikode: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) held a meeting with Congress leaders regarding the seat-sharing arrangement within UDF ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. 

IUML is reportedly pushing for a third seat to contest in the state, which coincides with this development. Following the meeting, IUML leader P. K. Kunhalikutty revealed the talk had been "satisfactory", but refused to disclose details of the meeting. 

Instead, he requested that further details be made public after holding a party meeting in Pannakad on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Congress had informed Kunhalikutty and Thangal of the practical difficulties involved in offering IUML a third seat. Congress has also not put forward the formula of offering a Rajya Sabha seat instead. Reports indicate that the IUML has not agreed to this.
