Kothamangalam:One more person too has lost his life in the wild elephant attack in Kerala . The incident occurred near Urulanthanni, close to Kuttampuzha in Kothamangalam. The deceased has been identified as Eldhose, a native of Knachery. Eldhose was found dead on the road. Preliminary information suggests that the elephant attacked him while he was walking after alighting from a bus.
It is reported that a herd of elephants is still present in the area. This has been a region plagued by wild elephant trouble for years. Residents have long demanded measures such as solar fences or other protective methods to prevent wildlife intrusions, but these have not been fully implemented.
The area is located very close to the forest and has limited communication facilities. According to locals, almost all wards in the Kuttampuzha panchayat are severely affected by wildlife issues. Residents have stated that they will only allow the body to be moved from the site after the district collector arrives.
