Thiruvananthapuram: A head nurse at Thycaud Women and Children Hospital fainted after being scolded by the superintendent and she sustained head injury due to the fall.
The incident occurred on Monday amid confusion over the postponement of a surgery. The superintendent had asked to delay the operation for an inspection, but the head nurse said that the patient was already in the operating theatre and preparations were underway.

The head nurse stated that three surgeries were scheduled and the operation theatre would be free only by evening. Despite this, the superintendent scolded her. Following this, the head nurse reportedly fainted due to high blood pressure. She sustained a head injury due to the fall and is currently receiving treatment at the Medical College Hospital.
In response, the Kerala Government Nurses Association protested against the superintendent, criticising the inappropriate behaviour towards the head nurse.
