Kochi: Kerala High Court has granted interim anticipatory bail to danseuse Sathyabhama in connection with the case filed by actor and dancer RLV Ramakrishnan alleging racial abuse against him. The court has further said that Sathyabhama should not be arrested till the case would be considered again on May 27.
It was during an interview given to a youtube channel that Sathyabhama had allegedly made some racial abuses against RLV Ramakrishnan. Following this, Ramakrishnan lodged a complaint with Chalakkudi police which was later handed over to Cantonment police station, Thiruvananthapuram.
A case was registered on charges including prevention of atrocities against people belonging to Scheduled Caste. Though Sathyabhama had moved a court seeking anticipatory bail in this case, the petition was rejected by the court, forcing her to move High Court.
It is said that, Sathyabhama had given clear hints about Ramakrishnan while making racial remarks in the youtube interview. As Ramakrishnan had come out against Sathyabhama, it had become a big controversy leading to extensive discussions on both traditional and social media. Ramakrishnan is the brother of late film actor Kalabhavan Mani. The youtube channel owner, the second accused in the case, was granted anticipatory bail by Nedumangad court .
