The aim of the map is to prevent people from driving across the city in search of food, wasting fuel and time.

Kochi, Kerala: For many in Kochi who assumed the war (Middle Eastern crisis) was far away, the impact became real when LPG shortages began to cause serious disruption. It was then that software engineers Vaishakh and Vishwanath began thinking about a new idea.
The concept for 'Gas Undo' emerged after an incident when they went for a team dinner with a group of 30 people but could not get the food they wanted because the restaurant had run out of gas. The idea is a real-time map that shows which hotels in Kochi city are open and where only limited menus are available. That is 'Gas Undo'.
Software engineers Vaishakh Suresh and V. Vishwanath Kartha are building the digital map site to make it easier to find where food is available and which restaurants are functioning. Information about hotels that have switched to induction cookers or firewood stoves due to the lack of gas can also be added.
The map will function through direct public participation. A person visiting a restaurant can record on the map whether food is available there or not. The aim of the map is to prevent people from driving across the city in search of food, wasting fuel and time.
A total of 2,488 restaurants in Kochi have been listed on the map.
The 'Gas Undo' website (https://www.gasundo.live/) operates free of charge.
