Thrissur: A dispute among locals escalated during an elephant procession at the Kavilakkad temple festival in Thrissur on Friday evening.
In the joint procession of elephants, the ‘Thidambu’ is carried by the elephant owned by the Devaswom. An elephant named ‘Thechikottu Ramachandran’ was positioned to stand on the right side of the Devaswom elephant. However, an argument broke out whether to place ‘Thrikkadavoor Sivaraju’ or ‘Chirakkal Kalidasan’ on the left side of the main elephant.
The committee members fought with each other over the matter. Two individuals who were injured in the incident were admitted to the hospital.
