
Kannur: The Kerala State Drugs Control Department on Thursday seized illegally manufactured beauty products from Kannur and Kasaragod. Reportedly, fake beauty products worth Rs 1.20 lakh were recovered by the officials.
The raids were carried out at shops in Kasaragod Press Club junction, Taliparamba market road and Kannur Bank road. The seized items include fairness creams, face lotion, shampoo, soaps, nail polish among others.
The products have been produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court and inspections were conducted by officials, led by M Anilkumar, Chief Inspector (Intelligence Squad), Drugs Control Department.
The raids were carried out by a team including drugs inspector (intelligence branch) Dr P Faizal, Kannur district inspectors EN Bijin, PM Santhosh and Kasaragod district drugs inspector V Baby.
