KSEB clarified that the incident involved electricity theft, and blaming KSEB for such crimes committed by private individuals is condemnable

Nilambur: The Kerala State Electricity Board has issued an explanation through a Facebook post after a boy died from an electric trap set for wild boar in Nilambur. KSEB clarified that the incident involved electricity theft, and blaming KSEB for such crimes committed by private individuals is condemnable.
In addition, they have shared a video of a KSEB officer inspecting and explaining the accident site at night in the presence of the locals.
An excerpt from the Facebook post states that electricity was illegally drawn from KSEB’s single-phase line using a metal rod, with uninsulated wires stretched across certain areas—ultimately leading to the child's death. Though KSEB is constantly raising awareness, these illegal activities are still prevalent. As per the rule, only electric fences with permission from the Electrical Inspectorate should be installed for agricultural crop protection. It is so sad to see that KSEB is blamed for such activities.
