MA Baby, Mar Joseph Pamplany

Kollam: CPM Politburo member MA Baby slammed Thalassery Archdiocese Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplany for his statement favouring BJP and the central government. Giving up principles for Rs 300 per kilogram of rubber is not considered a Christian belief, said MA Baby. He added that the Christian believers in Kerala hold the moral lessons of the Christ and will never heed to the words of the bishop.

The CPM veteran also accused the central government and opined that their only intention is to squeeze the farmers’ community more.

He reminded the Christians to not think only about Father Stan Swamy and other believers who were assaulted, but to contemplate regarding justice. Pope Francis has also urged the believers to stand by justice, MA Baby’s Facebook post read.

On Sunday, Mar Joseph Pamplany had declared that the farmers in high range will support BJP in the upcoming election if the Centre hiked the support price of rubber to Rs 300. Though he rejected the allegations that the decision was made after a pact with BJP, the details and photograph of Pamplany’s meeting with BJP leaders surfaced later.
