
Thiruvananthapuram: Following the controversy over deep-sea fishing, the government has cancelled all contracts with US-based company EMCC International.
Following the cancellation of two MoUs with EMCC, the government has cancelled its decision to hand over 4 acres of land to the company at Pallippuram. Industries Minister E. P. Jayarajan issued a directive in this regard to Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC).
The KSIDC explained that although a preliminary contract was signed, land was not handed over to EMCC. Meanwhile, KSIDC has been directed to end all transactions with EMCC International.
The other day, the government had cancelled two MoUs signed between Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC) and EMCC International for deep-sea fishing and construction of trawlers.
