Kannur: Seeking to distance itself from the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) against the backdrop of  the involvement of its activists in the Panoor bomb blast case, the CPM held that it has no frontal organisations.

When asked about the DYFI activists being charged in the case, CPM State secretary M V Govindan said here on Thursday that the DYFI is accountable for the same and it has to be asked to them.

"It is up to the DYFI leadership to address whether their members were involved or not," Govindan said, adding, “The CPM has no frontal oranisations.”

He also reiterated that the CPM has no role in the blast and added that the party does not engage in activities involving explosives. He also urged for a thorough investigation into the matter.

"The CPM has no connection with the incident. It should be thoroughly investigated," he said. (with inputs from ANI)
