Kannur: Nine steel bombs were discovered in a field at Kolari, Mattannur, on Tuesday morning. The bombs, stored in two buckets within a drain in the field, were found by a woman who was cutting grass around 11 am.
The woman promptly alerted local residents, leading to the arrival of Mattannur police and the bomb squad from Kannur. They secured the explosives and began the defusing process.
This incident follows heightened security concerns after the Panoor bomb blast, prompting extensive searches for bombs and weapons in the Mattannur region.
