Rajapuram (Kasaragod): A one and half-year-old toddler undergoing quarantine has tested positive for Covid-19 here after being bitten by a snake. Her neighbour and CPM Branch Secretary Jinil Mathew who came to rescue the baby has been placed under quarantine.
The toddler was being quarantined with Vattakkayam native parents, both teachers, after returning from Bihar. On Tuesday, she was bitten by a viper from under the window curtains.
Though onlookers assembled hearing screams, no one helped fearing Covid-19. Meanwhile, Jinil ran into the house and took the baby to hospital. In the Covid test conducted at Pariyaram medical college, she tested positive for the infection.
Following this Jinil was asked to undergo quarantine. The family had returned to Vattakkayam on July 16.
