Kozhikode: Traffic on the Thamarassery ghat road was disrupted on Saturday early morning as a cargo container lorry caught fire. Fireforce units from Mukkam rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

However, the traffic has not been fully restored. Vehicles are moving one way at a time to cross the blockade.

The fire happened at Chippilithod, above the first hairpin at around 5.30 am.

The Thamarassery ghat road is the major route connecting the hilly district Wayanad with the rest of Kerala.
