New Delhi: Abdul Hameed, who is the personal staff of T.N. Prathapan MP, dismissed the allegations levelled against him by BJP state president K. Surendran. He also warned that he would take legal action against the BJP leader.

Earlier, Surendran alleged that Abdul Hameed, who handles the Congress leader's social media handle, is linked with the banned outfit Popular Front of India (PFI). However, Hameed dismissed Surendran's allegations and demanded the BJP leader to publicly apologise for his remarks.

"It was alleged that NIA questioned me in connection with the Delhi riots. However, not even a Station House Officer of Delhi Police have questioned me," he said.

Hameed went on to criticise the BJP for branding every DYFI and Youth Congress activist from the Muslim community as a terrorist.

"I had taken part in the protests held in Jamia Millia Islamia against the Citizenship Amendment Act. However, the protests were peaceful and democratic. I won't be willing to compromise as long as I believe I have the right to object and criticise. PFI is a banned organisation. I strongly oppose any notion that would utilise religion to undermine the country's democracy and peace," he said.
