Perunna (Kottayam) : Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala said that his connection with the NSS (Nair Service Society) is an unbreakable bond and that it was the NSS that provided shelter during crucial moments of his life. He was speaking while inaugurating the public meeting in connection with the 148th Mannam Jayanthi celebrations.

Chennithala said that he considers the chance to inaugurate the event as a great fortune in his life and thanked the NSS for giving him the opportunity to be the chief guest. He further mentioned that he was using this opportunity to express his full gratitude and commitment to the NSS and its General Secretary for giving him the honour of inauguration, highlighting that several great personalities, including Rajiv Gandhi, Dr S. Radhakrishnan and K R. Narayanan, have inaugurated events on the same stage.

In his inaugural speech, Chennithala said that Mannathu Padmanabhan is one of the greatest leaders Kerala has given to India and that he was the greatest revolutionary Kerala has ever seen.

It was after a gap of 11 years that Ramesh Chennithala returned to the NSS headquarters. The invitation extended to him by the NSS to come back to the stage, forgetting the past differences, became a topic of discussion in the political circles.
