Kochi: Veena T, daughter of Opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) once again in connection with the CMRL–Exalogic financial transactions case. She arrived at the ED office around 9.30 am on Thursday.
The ED had earlier directed Veena to appear on June 29. However, she has now been summoned following the receipt of additional documents from the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), sources said.
The SFIO recently handed over 134 documents containing evidence it had gathered during its initial probe into the CMRL–Exalogic financial transactions case. The documents were transferred to the ED on Wednesday.
The digital copies of these records, stored on a hard disk, were submitted in a sealed cover before a special court in Ernakulam. The court subsequently handed them over to the investigating agency. The ED had earlier sought access to these records.
Veena is expected to be questioned again based on the contents of these documents. On June 17, the ED had questioned her for more than six hours in connection with the case.
