Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has filed a case against a YouTube channel for airing an interview with the son of Arjun, a lorry driver who went missing in a landslide in Shiroor, Karnataka.
The YouTube channel aired an interview where questions were posed to Arjun's two-year-old son. The incident sparked widespread criticism on social media over the insensitivity displayed towards Arjun's young son.
The Commission took action following a complaint from a resident of Palakkad, highlighting the inhumane nature of the questions asked to the child.
Meanwhile, Karnataka has announced that it is temporarily halting the rescue operation to locate Arjun. The Kozhikode native was driving a lorry loaded with timber to Kerala when the landslide occurred on July 16. He has been missing for the past 12 days. Multiple agencies have been conducting a search mission to find him at the landslide site.
