Kollam: The police have intensified their investigation into the abduction of a 6-year-old girl from Oyoor. Reports say that the three persons taken into custody by the police from Thiruvananthapuram in connection with the case will be let off after questioning. It is learnt that they may not be involved in the abduction.  

After 15 hours, on Tuesday morning, a man was taken into custody based on suspicion of being directly involved in the case. 

Initial questioning of this suspect led the police to a car wash facility in Sreekandeswaram, Thiruvananthapuram from where two more persons were detained. Preliminary reports suggested that one person is the owner of a car wash facility in Sreekaryam, Thiruvananthapuram.

Earlier, South Zone IG Sparjan Kumar stated that they are investigating the incident from all angles. It has been confirmed that the child was taken in a Swift Dzire car.

Besides Paripally and Pullikkal, the police have expanded their probe to Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts, as well as border regions. 

Abigail Sara Reji, hailing from Oyoor, was allegedly kidnapped while heading to the tuition class with her eight-year-old brother on Monday evening.
