Thiruvananthapuram: Train services in the Thiruvananthapuram division will experience schedule and route changes due to technical reasons.

Schedule change

  • The Mangaluru-Kanyakumari Express, departing from Mangalore will terminate at Thiruvananthapuram Central  on August 5th and 8th.
  • The Kanyakumari-Mangaluru Express, scheduled to start from Kanyakumari, will instead begin its journey from Thiruvananthapuram Central  on August 6th and 9th.
  • The Madurai-Punalur Express from Madurai will only travel till Tirunelveli on August 5th and 6th. The Punalur-Madurai Express, which was set to start from Punalur, will start from Tirunelveli on August 6th and 9th.

Route change

  • The Guruvayur-Chennai Egmore Express, which usually travels via Alappuzha, will run via Kottayam from August 16th to 26th.
  • The Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Superfast train via Alappuzha will follow the same route via Kottayam on August 18th and 25th.
  • The Antyodaya Express from Kochuveli, which normally travels via Alappuzha, will be rerouted via Kottayam on August 17th, 22nd, and 24th.

Meanwhile, Southern Railways has announced changes in train service patterns due to ongoing engineering works in Salem Division. The affected trains include: Train No. 13352 Alappuzha – Dhanbad Express, Train No.12678 Ernakulam Jn – KSR Bengaluru Daily Intercity Express, Train No. 18190 Ernakulam – Tata Nagar Express, and Train No. 16843 Tiruchchirappalli – Palakkad Town Express.
