The family alleged that the company did not respond positively to their requests for assistance.

A 32-year-old woman from Kerala who sustained life-threatening injuries in a bike-taxi accident in Bengaluru has said that, as of Sunday (July 5), she has not received any concrete offer of support from Rapido despite the company's reported claims of assistance.
Sani Krishna, an interior designer from Kunnamangalam in Kozhikode district, made the remarks in the comments section of an Instagram post shared by a news outlet. Her response came after reports suggested that Rapido had extended support following the accident.
"I have not received any concrete offer of support from Rapido to this day," Sani wrote.
The accident took place on the morning of June 17 while she was travelling from her residence in Byrasandra to her office in Domlur in Bengaluru. According to her family, it was her first ride booked through the Rapido platform.
Accident left her with multiple serious injuries
According to Sani, the motorcycle had travelled less than a kilometre when the rider allegedly attempted to overtake a tractor, lost control and crashed. She said she was then run over by the vehicle.
The crash left her with multiple serious injuries. She suffered seven fractured ribs, a broken shoulder, facial injuries and later underwent the removal of her spleen. She also required plastic surgery.
In her latest statement, Sani said she has already spent more than ₹20 lakh on medical treatment.
"I have undergone multiple surgeries, lost my spleen, suffered multiple rib fractures, facial and dental injuries, and I continue to live with severe pain every single day. I can't even cry without my chest hurting. Beyond the physical injuries, I am now dealing with the psychological trauma of this accident," she wrote.
She was initially admitted to a nearby hospital before being shifted to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru, where she underwent multiple surgeries. She was later transferred to MIMS Hospital in Kozhikode for further treatment.
According to her family, she has remained bedridden for more than two weeks and is also undergoing therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder.
Claims of inadequate response
Sani said she had enabled Rapido's women's safety feature while booking the ride but alleged that she did not receive the level of support or accountability she had expected after the accident.
She also claimed that no representative from the company visited her during her treatment at Manipal Hospital.
"What hurts even more is that during my days in the ICU at Manipal Hospital — barely 10 km from Rapido's head office — not a single representative came to meet me or my family," she wrote.
Addressing reports that Rapido had publicly stated it was helping her, Sani asked the company to specify what assistance had actually been offered.
"If Rapido has publicly stated that it is helping me, I ask them to clearly state what assistance has actually been offered. Please don't make promises through the media. Communicate them directly to me," she wrote.
"I am not asking for sympathy. I am asking for accountability. My life changed forever after this ride. Public statements mean little unless they are backed by real action."
Family alleges company denied responsibility
Earlier, Sani's family had alleged that Rapido did not accept responsibility despite the severity of the accident.
According to the family, when they contacted the company after the incident, they were told that the motorcycle involved did not have a taxi permit and that Rapido was therefore not responsible. The family alleged that the company did not respond positively to their requests for assistance.
