Thiruvananthapuram: Providing relief to farmers whose crops were damaged during the natural calamities across the state from July 29 to August 10, 2026, Minister for Agriculture Adv T Siddique announced that the deadline for submitting applications for natural disaster relief assistance and crop insurance compensation has been extended until September 5. Facility for submitting applications under the revised deadline has been made available on the AIMS portal.

The Minister stated that the deadline was extended to ensure that no eligible farmer loses the opportunity to apply, given the widespread crop damage across various parts of the state due to heavy rainfall and flooding. Following decisions taken during an earlier high-level meeting aimed at providing immediate relief to affected farmers and bringing more farmers under the crop insurance scheme, the application date has been extended.

All eligible farmers who have not yet submitted their applications must apply by September 5 via the AIMS portal or by contacting their nearest Krishi Bhavan. The Minister requested farmers not to wait until the final day and to apply as quickly as possible. Adv T Siddique added that alongside ensuring eligible financial assistance and insurance compensation for farmers affected by the natural calamity, the government will continue to prioritise measures to support the resumption of farming activities.
