Kerala voters can get 25% off at Cafe Coffee Day on April 9 by showing their inked finger

Thiruvananthapuram: In a bid to encourage voter turnout, Cafe Coffee Day will provide a 25 percent discount to the first 15 customers at each of its outlets in Kerala who show proof of having voted, Chief Electoral Officer Ratan U Kelkar announced on Monday.
How to avail the offer
Voters who cast their ballot on April 9, the polling day for the Kerala Assembly elections, and display the indelible ink mark on their finger will be eligible for the discount. The offer applies to the first 15 customers at each outlet, ensuring an incentive for early visitors.
The move is part of a collaborative effort between the Election Commission and Cafe Coffee Day to motivate the public, particularly young voters, to exercise their right to vote, Kelkar said.
To further engage first-time voters, the Election Commission has introduced additional incentives, including providing traditional ‘halwa’ to those casting their vote for the first time.
Other poll-day initiatives
In addition to discounts and sweets, Uber will offer free rides to polling stations within a two-kilometre radius in Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram, making it easier for citizens to reach polling booths.
State-run SupplyCo is also exploring a special scheme to provide rice flour at Re 1 on April 10 and 11, immediately following the election, as part of measures to support local residents.
