Thiruvananthapuram: Even as the film stars who were part of BJP drift to the CPM with complaints, the party leadership continues to show indifference. Actor Bheeman Raghu, who was BJP’s Pathanapuram candidate is the latest to leave the party. BJP maintains composure by stating that those who left the party do not have much star value.

Film director Ali Akbar was the first to distance himself from the BJP. Director Rajasenan recently joined the CPM after criticizing BJP. In the recent event attended by BJP National President J.P Nadda, actor Krishnakumar, a member of the national council voiced his displeasure over not being offered a seat on the stage. However, Krishnankumar rubbished the rumors of him leaving the party.

The ones who switched parties contend that despite working sincerely with BJP, their efforts were not recognised. They also allege that after joining the BJP, they are not getting film offers. 

A prominent star who still continues his loyalty to the party is actor Suresh Gopi. However, state leadership does not interfere with his work as his jurisdiction is mostly under the central government.
