Malappuram: Alleging that the speech made by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Malappuram was a breach of the model code of conduct, the BJP has filed a complaint against him with the Election Commission.
The Chief Minister had taken part in a rally organised by a committee for protection of the Constitution during which had given out a speech. BJP State Executive member K Surendran moved the Election Commission against this speech.
He alleged that the Chief Minister had campaigned for the in the name of religion and that it would amount to the violation of the code of conduct which has been in effect since the Election Commission has announced dates of the Lok Sabha elections, 2024.
