Bhagyalakshmi quits FEFKA in protest against move to reinstate Dileep after his acquittal in actress assalut case.

Kochi: Renowned dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi has resigned from the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) in protest against the organisation’s move to reinstate actor Dileep following his acquittal in the actress assault case. Announcing her decision on Tuesday, Bhagyalakshmi said she would no longer be part of any film industry organisation or association.
The development comes after FEFKA general secretary B Unnikrishnan publicly stated that the Directors’ Union would take a final decision on Dileep’s reinstatement and that FEFKA would examine the circumstances that led to the verdict. His comments added fuel to the growing controversy within the Malayalam film industry.
Dileep, the eighth accused in the 2017 actress assault case, was acquitted by the trial court on Monday, along with three other accused. The court ruled that the prosecution failed to prove the charges of criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence against the actor, leading to widespread debate and polarisation within the film fraternity.
