Malappuram: The last rites of cameraman A V Mukesh, who passed away after getting attacked by a wild elephant in Palakkad, will take place on Thursday.
The funeral will take place at Mukesh's residence in Chettipadi at 10 a.m. His mortal remains were placed for public homage earlier today. M V Shreyams Kumar, Managing Director of Mathrubhumi Printing & Publishing Company Ltd., visited Mukesh's residence to pay final respects.
Mukesh visited the Kottekad region with the Mathrubhumi News crew after learning that a wild elephant had entered an agricultural plot in the area. He was attacked while trying to capture the visuals of wild elephants crossing a river here. The team quickly ran away when the elephant began to charge, but Mukesh was unable to flee on time.
Mukesh sustained severe injuries on his hip and thigh and was immediately rushed to the district hospital but his life could not be saved.
