Kozhikode: After CPM state secretariat member PK Biju refused that his party held any internal inquiry into Karuvannur cooperative bank fraud, Anil Akkara on social media shared images purportedly the minutes of a meeting of CPM Thrissur district committee.

The image shows that the district committee meeting on December 24, 2019, decided to study the “working of Karuvannur and Moospet Service Cooperative Banks.” PK Biju and PK Shajan were entrusted with this. The image shared by Akkara was cropped, and mathrubhumi.com cannot independently verify the authenticity of it at this moment.

Earlier today, Biju denied the accusations levelled by Akkara. The former Alathur MP said that the CPM had not appointed an inquiry commission. Instead, the party's position is to investigate all allegations thoroughly and take legal action against those involved.

Akkara had earlier alleged that the unnamed former parliamentarian mentioned in the Enforcement Directorate’s remand report was PK Biju. The Congress leader accused P Satheesh Kumar, a native of Kolazhy in Thrissur and the primary accused in the case was Biju's mentor.

In the press meet on Sunday, Biju expressed his surprise at the accusations made by Akkara and emphasised that he has no association with money launderers or any questionable activities. He stated that the party and the people are his mentors and that he has no need to work under the mentorship of money launderers.

Biju stated that there was no connection between him and the accused in the Karuvannur case. He challenged Anil Akkara to prove his claims.
