Thrissur: Olympian Mayookha Johny on Friday stated that the police is favouring the accused in Aloor rape case and the accused and his aides were threateneing her and the survivor.

“Since the high court dismissed the bail plea from CC Johnson, the key accused in the case, the close aides of the accused were trying to threaten us and fabricate case against us," Mayookha said.

“The police refused to register the case or record statements even when we complained after receiving threats,” she added. The police had asked the survivor to come to the station and give a statement after she received death threats to withdraw the case.

According to the report, Thrissur Rural SP Poonguzhali had refused to record the statement when the woman and her husband came to the police station. She even asked them to leave and return a few days later to give the statement.

Later, the woman lodged a complaint with the DGP and the Additional DGP regarding this incident. Mayookha also said that the woman’s sister-in-law was also attacked in connection with this case.
