Pathanamthitta: Youth organisations staged a protest march to the vocational training centre following the incident in which a 19-year-old girl was found hanging in Adoor. DYFI and Youth Congress workers led the protest march. Gayathri, a native of Koodal, was found dead by suicide the previous day.

Gayathri had enrolled for training at the Drone Defence Academy and Yoga Centre, located on the second floor of the Adoor Revenue Tower. Gayathri's mother Raji alleged that the institution's owner Pradeep had misbehaved with her daughter, leading her to take her own life. The protests were staged in this context.

Initially, DYFI workers protested under the leadership of the block committee, waving flags. Later, Youth Congress workers also joined the protest. The Youth Congress workers tore down the signboards of the institution in protest.
Following the girl's death by suicide, the institution remains closed and is under police protection. The institution's owner, also a retired soldier, is absconding, and his phones have been switched off. It is reported that he has contacted Adoor police through his lawyer.

Gayathri was the daughter of Aadarsh, residing in a rented house at Murinjakkal near Mundanvilayil in Chittar Anchakkoil Colony. Her mother Raji, who works at a private institution at Kumbazha, returned home around 4.30 pm on Monday and found her daughter hanging in the rented house. She immediately removed the shawl used for hanging and administered first aid before rushing her to Konni Taluk Hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival. Gayathri’s father Aadarsh works as a driver.

After the inquest procedures, Gayathri's body will be handed over to the family following a post-mortem at Pathanamthitta General Hospital. Koodal Police has registered a case of unnatural death.

Six years ago, Gayathri's brother Adithya had gone missing from their home.
