
Kochi: Police nabbed a gang of young over charges of allegedly stealing rented vehicles after tracing each vehicle's location through GPS. The accused are identified as Iqbal, Mohammad Fahil and Shyam Mohan from Malappuram. Palarivattom police nabbed the gang after identifying their involvement in the vehicle theft.
After taking vehicles on rent, the gang advertised on OLX showing that the vehicles are for sale. Later, they will fix GPS on these vehicles and make a duplicate key. After selling the vehicles, they steal these vehicles by tracking the location on GPS.
The three were arrested after Palarivattom police received a complaint about vehicle theft. However, police said the accused had confessed to stealing similar vehicles before also.
Police said the arrest of the trio has been recorded. The police will take further action into the case.
