Pathanamthitta: The police case registered against MLA K T Jaleel for his controversial ‘Azad Kashmir’ remark has been withdrawn. The Thiruvalla Keezhvaipur police registered a case against Jaleel for multiple charges including Section 153 (A) for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth etc.    

The police have sent a notice to the complainant (an RSS activist) informing cancellation of the case, citing lack of proper evidence. The allegations against Jaleel were dismissed and termed as baseless. 

However, the complainant is free to approach the court, if he wishes to pursue the case further.
