Eight days after expanding his Uttar Pradesh cabinet, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assigned portfolios to six newly inducted ministers and two promoted Ministers of State, triggering a fresh political buzz over key departments ahead of major state initiatives. The latest UP cabinet reshuffle saw senior BJP leader Manoj Pandey getting the crucial Food and Civil Supplies Department, while former UP BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary was handed the MSME portfolio linked to the flagship One District One Product (ODOP) scheme.

The portfolio allocation is being viewed as a key political and administrative move in the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government, especially with welfare delivery, MSME growth and rural outreach remaining major focus areas.

Which ministers received key portfolios in Yogi Adityanath’s latest cabinet reshuffle?

Among the prominent appointments:

  • Manoj Pandey was given charge of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, which manages Uttar Pradesh’s massive free ration distribution scheme. 
  • Bhupendra Chaudhary, who recently completed his term as Uttar Pradesh BJP president, returned to the state cabinet with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department. 
  • Ajit Singh Pal, who was elevated from Minister of State (Independent Charge), received the Food Safety and Drug Administration portfolio.
  • Another promoted leader, Somendra Tomar, was assigned the Political Pension, Ex-Servicemen Welfare and Provincial Armed Constabulary-related departments.

The reshuffle also brought new responsibilities for:

  • Krishna Paswan, who will oversee the Livestock and Dairy Development Department
  • Kailash Singh Rajput was entrusted with the Energy and Additional Energy Sources portfolio
  • Surendra Diler was allocated the Revenue Department
