Amidst promising early election leads, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) national spokesperson Felix Gerald asserted on Monday that the party is poised to secure a standalone government in Tamil Nadu with an absolute majority.

In a conversation with PTI Videos, Gerald characterized the initial trends as a reflection of public sentiment, arguing that voters have gravitated toward TVK because they are "fed up" with the existing political establishment. He took a sharp aim at the state’s long-standing political titans, remarking, "They may have experience of 50 or 75 years, but they have got experience only in looting the state," while positioning TVK as the trusted alternative for the electorate.

When questioned about party chief Vijay’s minimal media engagement during the election cycle, Gerald explained that the leader prioritises "talking directly to the people" over traditional press channels. He also brushed aside earlier media skepticism that predicted the party might not win a single seat, citing the high voter participation as a clear sign of grassroots support.

Gerald further criticized the DMK for its alleged dismissal of TVK’s presence during the campaign, stating, "They were closing their eyes and running in a dark room. Now they will understand the world they live in". Despite the fluidity of the ongoing count, the spokesperson remained unwavering, maintaining that TVK will establish the next government without the need for any external alliances. (PTI)
