Rail services will resume once safety checks are complete. Heavy rainfall continues to threaten the region

Uttarkashi: A boulder fell on the railway track between the Haridwar and Motichur sections on the Haridwar-Dehradun route in Uttarakhand, causing a temporary disruption of rail traffic. Train operations on the Haridwar-Dehradun route have been suspended by Northern Railway following a landslide. According to authorities, the incident did not cause any major damage or injuries, thanks to a protective canopy that had been installed over the tracks as a precautionary measure.
Work to clear the boulder and restore the track began promptly, with sectional officers arriving at the site to oversee the restoration. Northern Railways assured that the train services on this important route would be resumed as quickly as safety could be ensured.
Uttarakhand experienced multiple cloudbursts on Tuesday, leading to heavy rainfall and flash floods in several areas. The sudden deluge has caused waterlogging, landslides, and disruption to normal life in the hilly regions. Authorities have issued warnings for further rainfall and are monitoring the situation closely to ensure public safety and provide necessary relief to affected communities.
